With reference to the 8th of the Acting Chief Justice's observations, I would remark, that at the time when I drafted the Ordinance for the Oral examination of prisoners, I was aware of the existence of the Section set out by him, and I did not then, do I now think it necessary or advisable to repeal it in terms.
